CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) technology uses an advanced imaging system to create a digital impression. This impression is then used to design and mill a custom dental crown in a matter of minutes, saving you time and allowing your dentist to place the crown so that you can leave our office with a renewed smile.

During your same-day crown appointment, your dentist will:

• Thoroughly examine your teeth to ensure that a dental crown is right for you
• Remove any weakened, decayed or broken tooth material
• Thoroughly clean the damaged tooth
• Capture a digital picture of your mouth and convert that picture into a 3D model
• Use the 3D model to design your crown
• Mill your new dental crown from a block of tooth-colored material

Once milled, your crown will be placed onto your tooth, and your dentist will check that it fits properly before bonding it into place and polishing it to complete your treatment.
